Remedial CAPS Online Homeschool
The national curriculum, paced and reshaped to help a child who has fallen behind catch up, and feel capable again. The same CAPS content, taught in a way that closes the gap.

What remedial CAPS is, and when it helps.
Remedial CAPS is the same national curriculum, taught in a way that helps a child who has fallen behind rebuild the skills underneath. The goal is simple: close the gap in reading, writing and maths, and keep your child moving in mainstream education.
It is built for the child who has slipped behind their class, who has gaps from a disrupted year, or who learns differently and needs the pace to change. Concepts are repeated, reviewed and broken into smaller, manageable steps, so progress feels possible again.
You do not need a background in special education to guide it. The lessons, structure and support are all provided, and your child works from the comfort and safety of home.
Remedial CAPS, in short
- The CAPS curriculum, re-paced to catch up
- Concepts repeated, reviewed and summarised
- Work broken into small, manageable steps
- Strong visual support: spacing, colour, graphics
- English or Afrikaans, Grade R to 9
How remedial closes the gap.
The same CAPS content, re-paced so a child who has fallen behind can catch up to grade level, one manageable step at a time.
- Where your child is now. The starting gap, named honestly.
- Placed by skill, not age. Met at their real level, per subject.
- Small, repeated steps. Work broken down so progress feels possible.
- Repeat & review until it lands. Concepts revisited, not rushed past.
- Back on track. The gap closes and mainstream is in reach.
What a catch-up day looks like.
Everything your child needs lives in one place, paced so nobody moves on without them.

Own pace, no pressure
Your child works at a speed that fits, with nobody moving on without them.Repeat and review
Concepts are repeated, reviewed and summarised until they genuinely land.Small, manageable steps
Work is broken into small units that build confidence as they are completed.Built-in visual support
Font, size, spacing, colour and graphics all tuned to make reading easier.Qualified teacher support
Real teachers guide the catch-up, so you are never doing it alone.Redo a year, catch up, or move ahead.
Because it is self-paced, a child can steady themselves on a tricky grade, or a ready learner can even cover two grades in a single year. The pace bends to your child, not the other way round.
Where your child is placed.
Remedial CAPS runs from Grade R to Grade 9, in three phases. Your child is placed at the right level per subject, and can join any time.
What your child works on.
The focus is the core skills a child needs to catch up, inside the full CAPS subject set.
Placement is by skill, not just age, so your child is met where they actually are and stretched from there.
Still CAPS. Still on track.
Catching up does not mean stepping outside the system. Remedial CAPS is the same national curriculum, so your child stays on track to rejoin mainstream schooling.
