Fees, explained

Online homeschool fees: what to budget for.

Homeschooling is often more affordable than a private school, but the costs sit differently. Here is what to plan for, with no surprises.

One of the first questions every parent asks is "what will this actually cost?" The honest answer has a few parts. None of them are hidden, and there are no uniforms or transport to pay for.

Monthly tuition

The main cost is a single monthly fee per grade, covering video lessons, worksheets, quizzes, digital assessments, weekly trackers and termly reports. It varies by grade and curriculum. The exact figure, and a calculator, are on the Fees page.

Once-off registration

There is a once-off registration fee of R1,050 to secure a place. It is non-refundable, because our team sets up your child's profile and platform access when you register.

Exam costs (the part people forget)

For most grades, tuition is the whole story. Two exceptions:

  • Grade 12 CAPS: SACAI exam fees apply. To register, a 50% deposit of the SACAI examination fees is due up front, and there is a small SACAI registration and invigilator fee. The full Grade 12 registration breakdown is on the CAPS page.
  • Cambridge from IGCSE: your child sits as a private candidate at an official Cambridge centre, which charges its own exam fees on top of tuition.

Devices and data

You will need a reliable device and an internet connection. That is the one cost that is genuinely yours to arrange, and it is often the only "extra" beyond fees.

What you do NOT pay for

  • No uniforms.
  • No transport or petrol.
  • No stationery lists or textbook bills, the materials are digital.
  • No fundraising or hidden levies.
Want your real number? The Fees page has a calculator: pick the grade and curriculum and it shows the monthly fee and what is included, with any review-gated fees flagged rather than guessed.

Fee questions, answered.

Can I pay monthly rather than upfront?
Yes. Most families pay a monthly fee across the school year. A yearly option is also available at enrolment.
What happens to the registration fee if we do not continue?
The R1,050 registration fee is once-off and non-refundable, as it covers setting up your child's profile and access.
